Dear Amanda,
This is a great web site. I will try and get the maximum use of it. By the way I am having a difficulty in opening the CNS drugs-Questions to 2007 PDF. Please have a look at it when ever you are able to.

Hi Jay, please feel free to utilise the notes as much as you want. With regards to the CNS drug Questions to 2007, I have tried opening it from the website, and had no problem. If you are having trouble though, you can right click and Save Target As which should download the files for you to be able to view. If you are still having trouble, please let me know exactly what you are doing, and I will see if I can sort it out.
Regards

Hi Jay
I have reposted those questions in their expanded format – I can only think that the file must have gotten corrupted at some point. Hopefully you will be able to view/download these as needed!

Hi Amanda!
Question 2010(a) on the pharmacology of the nicotinic cholinergic receptor, was also asked in 1997(a)9 e.g. an exact repeat after 13 years. The examiners report for 2010 focussed on different things compared with what you covered in your answer. We discussed this in our Primary exam course with our tutors and I constructed an easy to explain and remember table that corresponds with what was indicated by the examiners report. If you would like it, please email me (theodevries@doctors.org.uk) cause I would appreciate some feedback as to the content.
Cheers!

Hi Theo
The aim of the website is to provide a guide to the format of exam answers. It also indicates (when I have time) the number of times that exam questions are repeated. Given the high number of repeats, it is expected that the examiners would change the focus of answers (I would imagine it would keep it more interesting for them!). Sadly, I do not have the resources to be able to redo repeat questions – however, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to contribute to the website by sending me your version of the ideal answer, I would be happy to format it in my standard format and post it on the website (with your authorship noted) for others to be able to benefit from what you have learnt!
The only way the website can move forward is by those sitting the exam contributing for those that come after them.
If you would like to contribute, please send me a message and I will provide my email address for you to send your answer to for posting.
Good luck!
